bf2 is the probably the perfect game for an rpg player to play for fps.
You rank up, allowing you to unlock new weapons, plus give you priority for commander over lower ranks.
squad play really really makes you better and everyone better.
of course there are some llamas but everygame has them, cheating is at a minimum. it's really my favorite game, most fun i've had since Halo and Wolf 3D. shoot, even since Kings Quest Iv

Some people who take it really seriously....that IS them relaxing. Some people are competative or obsessed by nature
I personally am more obsessed than I'd like to be, but I always make sure that the game never interferes with real life. Otherwise, I need to take a look at what's happening

How do you know? Maybe you've never listened for long enough.

Well, to OP the simple answer is that games like GW take TIME, real TIME. I used to play an FPS called Medal of Honor and still do occasionally. The thing is, in shooters like that, or similar, you can jump in a server for a bit, then jump back out again. Theres no "after I level up" or "Let me just finish this run" because in shooters there is nothing to gain by playing more... apart from knowledge, but that is different. Im GW theres not really any point in playing for 15 mins because hardly anything can be done in 15 mins, even a farming run takes longer. This is why people play MMOs for longer than any other game in one sitting. Simple.
P.S. I hope this is the answer to what you meant.

In the real world the power of your decisions will generate the sensations you experience, so you basically create your own reality. As alot of people grow older, they get married, have children, find stable jobs, get in debt, and become trapped in a prison without walls. It's really your point of view, you may enjoy the reality you've created or you may hate it. Just like any hobby, Guild Wars is a way for some people to escape from their reality and create a new one on their terms. You can be beautiful, powerful, confident, or what ever you want to be in the game. The longer you play the game, then the longer you can hold on to these feelings. It's a trap that I see alot of people fall into with this game, and I would classify it as an addiction for some.
Who wants to go farming for greens!

well see that's not true anymore. with bf2 ppl stay in to rank up, to unlock weapons, etc. It took me a long time to get Corporal with two weapon unlocks.
but I see what you're saying.
